I’m Troy, a UX and product designer who believes great design begins with understanding people. With over two decades of experience across digital products, interfaces, and visual design, I bring curiosity, creativity, and practical thinking to complex problems—turning ideas into intuitive experiences that feel effortless to use.

How I work

I approach design with curiosity, asking questions, challenging assumptions, and exploring possibilities before settling on solutions. Through observation, collaboration, and rapid prototyping, I work to simplify complexity and create experiences that make sense to the people using them. My background in visual design and front-end development helps bridge the gap between an idea and a finished product.

Background

My career began in graphic design and evolved into designing digital products and experiences. Along the way, I’ve worked across visual identity, web design, interaction design, and enterprise software. Today, at Cenergistic, I focus on making complex energy-management tools more intuitive and useful. That combination of disciplines has shaped how I think: balancing usability, visual clarity, and the realities of building software.

Beyond design

Curiosity doesn’t stop when I leave the screen. I’m a guitarist and teacher with a love for music theory, learning, and understanding how people think. Whether I’m exploring a new technology, studying something unfamiliar, or helping someone learn, I enjoy discovering connections between seemingly unrelated ideas.
